ABOUT EAST AFRICAN SCHOOL OF AVIATION
Renowned as one of the best aviation schools in Kenya and Africa, East Africa School of Aviation was established in 1954 and spawned into the prestigious aviation training facility that it is today. It is known for having some of the best aviation personnel and has trained a high number of students to become some of the world leading aviation professionals in the market.
East Africa School of Aviation (EASA) was one of the first sixteen recognized institutions in providing quality aviation training, following its accreditation by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in 2006. This highly accredited aviation training institution is an IATA training partner and a TVET institution. As an Approved Training Organisation (ATO), it is also the training Directorate of the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA). It doesn’t stop there, it is also an ICAO Regional Training Center of Excellence (RTCE), an ICAO TrainairPLUS full member, an ICAO Aviation Security training centre (ASTC) and an ISO 9001:2008 certified institution.
At EASA, students can not only expect dynamic and high quality training but also a diverse diploma-level programme offering across the field of aviation. The aviation training institution offers the following training departments; Department of Aviation Business Management (ABM), Department of Aviation Safety and Security (ASSM), Department of Air Navigation Services and Maintenance (ANS&M) And Department of Curriculum Development and Research Unit (CDU).
The aviation training institute also has its Wilson Airport Campus that provides with students training on Flight Operations / Dispatch, Airside Safety Procedures, Aircraft Loading and Handling, Dangerous Goods Regulations Awareness, Aircraft Weight and Balance, Perishable Goods Regulations Awareness, Airport Operations, and Crew Resource Management. This campus was the first satellite campus of EASA, set up to make their aviation programmes accessible to more students with a passion for aviation. The campus provides students with both full-time and evening aviation training programmes.
EASA also has a state-of-the-art hospitality service center that is situated in EASA’s main campus grounds in Embakasi along Old North Airport Road. The center comes fully equipped with ultra-modern conference facilities, a fully equipped auditorium that has a 400 person seating capacity, highly professional dinning services and facilities, and ultra-modern computer laboratories. For non-academic development, students have access to the institution’s modern recreational facilities from their Olympic-size swimming pool, to their manicured gardens that host any number of outdoor games, sports and events. EASA’s service center also provides well-maintained and modern living facilities for students. Their hostels are conveniently located in a serene secluded area, and comfortably accommodate 200 people.
EASA also hosts a fully-stocked and highly equipped library that provides students and staff with all the reading, reference and research materials they need to excel. They stock spans over 5,000 volumes of books and bound periodicals, current journals, magazines, dailies and much more.
The highly ranked aviation training institution has established a number of collaborations that have ensured more and more students have access to their aviation training programmes. They’ve collaborated with Moi University to provide Aviation Business courses, and collaborated with Singapore Aviation Academy to provide high quality and specialized aviation programmes tailored to the needs of the region. Through their collaboration with ICDL, they are able to provide basic and professional computer courses, while through their collaboration with Korean Incheon Airport Aviation Academy they’ve been able to provide a diverse number of training programmes across the aviation field.
Situated in the Embakasi area of Nairobi city, East Africa School of Aviation’s main campus is strategically located in close proximity to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), while EASA’s satellite campus sits within Wilson Airport. As a result, students get a hands-on learning experience that better prepares them for the aviation industry, with EASA’s vision being “to be the global aviation training Centre of Choice".
