ABOUT EMMA DANIEL ARTS TRAINING INSTITUTE (EDATI)
Emma Daniel Arts Training Institute (EDATI) is one of the few confectionery specialty schools that are currently in operation in Kenya. The institute has been operational for the past twenty years. Much of the school's success has been attributed to the unique position that Emma Daniel Arts Training Institute (EDATI) takes up in the market. In addition to being a training institution, Emma Daniel Arts Training Institute (EDATI) is also categorized as an Art School, Bakery, Event Planner, Food Production and Wedding Bakery located in Kahawa West, Nairobi, Kenya.
Emma Daniel Arts Training Institute (EDATI) attempts to ensure that students produced by the school emerge highly skilled and competitive by offering courses that are hands-on and give practical experience that can be used in their future endevours. The primary goal of Emma Daniel Arts Training Institute (EDATI) is to ensure that its students are ultimately business owners and this is accomplished by offering courses that assure self-reliance and independent work instead of the conventional culture where individuals train for work.
Aside from hostels and accommodation provided by the school, this higher learning institute – EDATI - has a sister institute that is a driving school. This is known as The Emma Daniels Driving School. The driving lessons are offered as an add-on to new students who enroll into the Emma Daniel Arts Training Institute (EDATI). Licenses offered by Emma Daniels Driving School are approved by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) of Kenya. Emma Daniel Arts Training Institute courses are as per the following: Diploma Courses – Diploma in Food and Beverage Production - Diploma in Culinary Arts - Diploma in Baking and Pastry Authentication Courses - Certificate in Pastry and Bakery - Certificate in French - Certificate in Food and Beverage Production - Certificate in Cake Making and Decoration. Some of the creations and services offered by the event planning arm of the school are birthday cakes, wedding cakes, pastries, outside catering and African themed cakes. Emma Daniel Arts Training Institute (EDATI)'s fundamental product line has been occasional cakes, which are generally finished with an aesthetic touch that is top notch. Inside of two months of opening the school's first shop, Emma Daniel Arts Training Institute received the opportunity to make news in the entire nation, when EDATI's own one of a kind chef and owner Daniel Mungai was profiled in three full pages in The Standard paper dated August 30th 2003. The institute is proud to note that its graduates leave and create their own legacies and through the institution’s consistent enhancement of programmes and training techniques, legacies continue to be made.
