Course Overview

The school is one of the three schools under the College of Engineering and Technology(COETEC). The school currently consists of two departments: Civil, construction and environmental engineering (CCEE) and Geomatic engineering and geospatial information systems (GEGIS). The school offers engineering degrees both at undergraduate and graduate levels in Civil engineering and in Geomatic engineering and geospatial information systems respectively. The undergraduate programs take five academic years of two semesters each with a design/research project in the final year. These projects allow the students to apply the concept learned to real-world situations.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS1. The University and College of Engineering common regulations shall apply2. The following shall be eligible for consideration for admission into the degreeprogramme:I. Kenya certificate of secondary education (KCSE) applicants should satisfy all therequirements below.i) A candidate must have a mean aggregate of at least B- (MINUS)ii) The mean grade for the total score in the four cluster subjects must be at least B (plain)In the individual cluster subjects, a candidate must have at least the scores given belowAlternative A. Alternative B.Mathematics C+ Mathematic C+Physics C+ Physical Science BChemistry C+ Biological Sciences C+Geography or Biology, or C+ Geography or any C+Any Group IV Subjects. Any Group IV SubjectsII. Kenya Advanced certificate of Education (KACE) or the A– level equivalent shouldsatisfy all the requirements below:(i) At least two principal passes in Mathematics and Physics and(ii) Atleast a total score of nine (9) points at the KACE or equivalent;(iii) Atleast accredit pass in Chemistry at the KCE or its equivalent.
