The Diploma programmes within the School of Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management aims at producing highly, but broadly inter-disciplinary oriented professionals in aspects of tourism, travel, hospitality and events management. The diploma curricula have been prepared in line with the needs of the tourism, travel and hospitality sectors; and practitioners in the current dynamic and competitive global economies and covers all relevant disciplines of management. As such, graduates of the diploma programs are expected to be competent to handle common tourism, travel, hospitality and events practices as well as becoming the forefront supervisors and managers that are able to advice on routine decision-making process. The graduates would be at an advantaged position to find career opportunities in various sectors, particularly in the public, private and corporate sectors.

What are the admission criteria?

To be admitted into the diploma programme, the applicant must fulfil academic requirements as prescribed by Moi University:

- Pass with minimum aggregate KCSE grade of C- or equivalent score in an examination recognized by the University Senate.
- O-level certificate with minimum grade of Division III or equivalent plus evidence of relevant academic or professional training.
- A-level qualification with a minimum of 1 principal pass or 3 subsidiaries with at least D+ in KCSE or equivalent.
- A certificate from a recognized/ accredited post secondary institution after a full cycle of secondary education.
- Any other qualification that may be defined by Senate from time to time.
