This two year diploma has been designed to provide students with a firm knowledge base as they begin their journey into the world of hospitality and tourism management. Taken on-campus at the Kenya Methodist University, this programme introduces students to the skills and knowledge they need to take up managerial and supervisory jobs in institutions such as hotels, resorts, schools, colleges and hospitals. For the  most comprehensive learning experience, students will undergo an industrial attachment in the fifth and final semester.

Admission Criteria

To be eligible for this course, students require either: 

  • A KCSE Minimum Grade of C (Plain) or the equivalent 
  • A Certificate in Food & Beverage Production, Sales and Service or Institutional Management with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above or the equivalent

Detailed course information

This diploma course is taken on-campus at the Kenya Methodist University. It is structured to take five semesters (sixteen weeks each) or two academic years including a practicum/industrial attachment. The period can be shortened to one and a half calendar years.
