Admission Criteria

This course is open to residents of West Pokot County who are: 

  • Holders of at least a KCSE Certificate
  • Over 18 years of age 
  • Literate and able to communicate in English and Kiswahili 

How do I apply?

To apply for this course, students must: 

  • Complete the application form in capital letters
  • Enclose a photocopy of their identity card and certificates
  • Attach two (2) passport size photographs

Payment options

This training is fully sponsored by IRA. However, trainees will be required to pay a fee of 1,000 KES to enable the Authority to licence them as an insurance agent upon successful completion of the training.

Detailed course information

This training will be held in West Pokot County for two weeks as follows:

Week 1 
  • Essentials of Insurance (May 14th-18th 2018) 

Week 2 
  • Introduction to Insurance Practice (May 21st - 25th 2018) 

Note
  • Trainees will be examined at the end of each week 
  • This course will cover life and general insurance including selling skills, micro-insurance, communication, agriculture insurance and takaful (Islamic) insurance
