Course Introduction

The Master of Philosophy (M. Phil) degree in Entrepreneurship is a multi-disciplinary course covering the areas of entrepreneurship management, information technology, and informal sector and development studies. The programme is open to graduates who meet minimum entry requirements. The programme is aimed at equipping students with skills, techniques and understanding for successful development and management of business enterprises. It also aims at equipping students with the relevant skills for self-employment; and effective management of enterprises in both the private and public sectors. The programme is thus suitable for all professionals: trainers, administrators, teachers, lawyers, managers doctors, engineers, sociologists, farmers who may be either in full–time paid employment or self–employed. It targets fresh graduates, the self–employed, and employees of various organizations involved in development work and other related activities.

What are the admission criteria?

The common admission requirements of Moi University shall apply. Candidates should hold at least Upper Second Class Honours in a relevant field, namely: Media Studies, Human Resource Development, Social Science, BA-Language/Linguistics/Literature Public Relations/ Administration, Diplomacy/International Affairs, Law, Education particularly with a bias in Linguistics and Social Sciences, Any other areas that will be deemed relevant by the department’s selection team). Or any other qualification recognized by Senate equivalent to the above.
