Course Overview

 (We now offer online classes due to the government directive on Covid-19}

The International Diploma in Montessori is a comprehensive programme that is designed to equip participants with diverse Montessori teaching strategies, methods, and ideologies, that will help them become compassionate and competent educators. The 1 year certificate and 6 months upgrade to diploma course is taken on-campus at Oak House Training College. It focuses on both theoretical as well as practical knowledge of Montessori to develop teachers of the highest quality that will make a significant contribution to the lives of young children. 1 year is for the certificate course which allows you to get an inhouse certificate. The diploma is awarded upon duly completing the 6 months in house teaching practice.

Maria Montessori developed this method of teaching over 100 years ago which is still being practiced worldwide. The course consists of 7 modules and assignments (Montessori philosophy, Maths, Language, Sensorial, Practical life,  Culture and Curriculum planning)
Montessori Students are given a first hand feel of how practical classes are to be conducted with demonstrations. The theory classes are conducted with in-class lectures.

The Montessori method gives children the freedom to explore and develop to their full potential within the Montessori prepared environment. It teaches practical life skills to help the child become more independent. Children learn using their senses, as their senses are heightened up to the age of six, thereby enabling the child to learn and heighten the sense in question. It also teaches, science, history and geography.

The International Diploma is a recognized award  from OFQUAL, UK, that allows students to teach in pre-schools worldwide.

Student Testimonial

Mrs Hema Shah is a dedicated and committed Montessori lecturer who is steadfast in her belief of using the Montessori method to teach the young child of 2 - 6 years.  The Montessori presentations are done to the tee, with amazing flow and precision. She is extremely thorough in her work and her love for Montessori emanates to her students .
After learning with Mrs Hema, I have become a firm believer of the method of the Montessori teaching for young children and have started using it in my teaching career with fervour and gusto. I would never want to change my career henceforth as I have found my true calling through Montessori and I look forward to changing and shaping the lives of young children worldwide.
Gloria Morondi.

Passionate and enthusiastic are the first words that come to my mind when describing Mrs Hema Shah’s teaching. She is an excellent tutor who goes above and beyond to ensure that her students are well-equipped with the materials being taught in class. Anyone can easily converse with her and ask for useful feedback at any point in time. She never hesitates to give additional resources and feedback to her students.  I really enjoy her class and she definitely increased my interest in the Montessori course.

Janvi Lathia.

The love of Montessori emanates from Miss Hema's soul! She is assuredly one of the best teacher's I have had.
I am indeed in love with Montessori myself now! She is enthusiastic, a strong stimulus for students, pragmatic and result oriented teacher. instructional time is devoted to learning with fun. She is very professional and is always willing to help her students during the class.
I believe that children learn best with hands on learning and being able to touch materials to understand concepts, rather than always learning through abstract means such as worksheets. Montessori materials are very beautiful and each and every material has its own step by step way of teaching children.
