The graduates of the Doctor of Curriculum and Instruction should be able to:
i) To prepare and upgrade personnel to serve as administrators, researchers, and educators in institutions of higher learning;
ii) To maintain a programme of disciplined inquiry designed to improve educational practices;
iii) To provide educational services to all educational institutions on matters related to curriculum and instruction.
The common Egerton University rules and regulations for admission into the Doctor of Philosophy Programme shall apply. Applicants for the Doctor of Philosophy programme in Curriculum and Instruction shall be required to have a Master of Science degree in Curriculum and Instruction or its equivalent. Applicants for the Doctor of Philosophy programme in Curriculum and Instruction shall be required to present a research project proposal acceptable to the Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Educational Management.
