Established in 1984, Catholic University of Eastern Africa was founded as a theology institution of higher learning. It ranks as one of the most prestigious universities in the region, with a high academic performance record and one of the best reputations in the country.
At the start, Catholic University of Eastern Africa was permitted by the Commission of Higher Education, to offer students courses in the faculty of arts, social sciences, commerce, science and law.
