With 10 campuses and more than 30 faculties, University of Nairobi is one the largest universities in Kenya. Established in 1956 under the name of the Royal College Nairobi, it was renamed University of Nairobi in 1970. For the longest time standing, University of Nairobi was the only higher learning institution in Kenya.
