About International Hotel and Tourism Institute (IHTI)

The International Hotel and Tourism Institute (IHTI) is a hospitality training centre committed to excellence and quality education. Pioneered by five renowned hospitality education professionals, and led by Ambassador Mwakai Sio, IHTI opened its doors in May 2005. With an initial admission of only four students, the institution rapidly gained recognition and fame and now has a total of 250 students from five different countries. Over the years, IHTI has sought to provide hospitality and tourism training that meets the highest international standards, moulding its students into credible and respected professionals, and placing them in highly rewarding and progressive career paths, in Kenya and globally. 

Situated in the green and leafy suburb of Kileleshwa, IHTI offers its students modern training facilities comprising of both theory and application classrooms, ensuring it produces graduates with outstanding professional values and attitudes, mentoring them throughout their career development. In addition, IHTI continuously builds strong partnerships with the industry and leading hospitality institutions around the world to give their students the chance to put into practice everything they have learned through exciting internship opportunities.
