Mediation Training Institute focuses on training, certification and consulting in the workplace as well as basic mediation. Mediation Training Institute (East Africa) was established in 2008 and is situated at Agip House, 4th Floor, Suite 405 in Nairobi, Kenya in East Africa. The institution serves the greater East and Central Africa region as well.

MTI mediation trainings are conducted through open enrolment, customized seminars and workshops. These are geared towards regulation and management, development and practice, as well as support and guidance for the practitioners of mediation and related dispute resolution systems in everyday life. By so doing, the Institute equips students / candidates with the skills needed for building better relationships at the workplace, home and in the community. The goal is to totally avoid confrontations and should they arise, they should be resolved amicably with the least fatality plausible.

The Institute is held in high regard for professionalism and integrity by peers, corporates and students. The institute’s key areas are in Labour Relations, Commercial, Environmental and Family Mediation trainings and consultancy. To better impact learners, the institution has partnered with other organizations (including government institutions like courts of law and parastatals) and individuals which has enabled it to share resources and expertise hence forging long term relationships founded on mutual dealings. These partnerships also present learners with practical everyday situations that call for mediation showing its practicality and providing case studies for the learners as well. This is achieved by use of fairness and harmony.

All the services offered by the Institute are led by a certified, practicing and experienced professional assisted by a team of trained and experienced professionals in their area of specialty. The Institute evaluates and accredits candidates who have met the certification requirements. Aside from training, Mediation Training Institute offers mediation and related services to individuals or corporates that may request for it. The Mediation Training Institute (East Africa) is involved in carrying out research in mediation and related relevant fields. This enhances nurturing relations with similar organizations within Kenya and beyond.

Mediation Training Institute conducts programs aimed at creating public awareness of the advantages of mediation and other alternative dispute resolution mechanism. The Institute is actively involved in the publication of materials that sensitize public awareness on mediation. To get the best trainers for their programmes, the institution runs a train the trainer course. The course takes place three times every year. To join its list of trainers the institution requires candidates to be certified mediation professionals.
