ABOUT PRESBYTERIAN UNIVERSITY OF EAST AFRICA -KIKUYU TOWN, KIAMBU

An accredited higher learning institution in Kenya, the Presbyterian University of East Africa (PUEA) was established in 2007 with the purpose of providing the highest levels of academic excellence and practice in the region. The Commission for University Education gave the university its accreditation and through the years the Presbyterian University of East Africa has delivered on its word to provide quality and accessible higher learning in the country.

The university has on-boarded over six hundred and fifty students and an additional twenty thousand plus students in their Theology Education by Extension (TEE) programme. PUEA has two campuses, it’s main campus situated in Kikuyu and a town campus, but also hosts remote sites across thirteen other campuses and also in five hospitals. PUEA provides students with a myriad of courses offered at certificate-level, diploma-level, undergraduate-level and postgraduate-level. Its programme offering cuts across Health Sciences, Hotel and Tourism, Communication, Computer Science, Theology, Business Administration and Education.

PUEA provides students with highly equipped and structured campuses located within serene and conducive learning environs. They are pillared on driving students’ self-reliance, entrepreneurial spirit and creativity. Students also benefit from the university’s modes of learning that are flexible to accommodate their students’ different needs; from part-time learning, full-time learning, e-learning to open and distance learning. The university is pillared on making quality education easily accessible. They are also constantly upgrading their learning facilities to ensure students have access to the best academic resources they need. They provide students with;

- Counselling services: Students have access to highly trained and experienced counsellors who are available to assist in a student’s personal, social, emotional, career or academic concerns. Services are highly confidential and tailored to provide students with the support they need.

- Chaplaincy services: PUEA seeks to support students in nurturing spirituality across all denominations, faiths and beliefs. At their varsity, students have access to the university’s chaplaincy where they can learn, develop and engage with fellow like-minded students and mentors. They have a weekly chapel that students and faculty attend.

- Dynamic recreational activities: Students have a wide option of sports, games and non-academic activities to choose from. From pursuing one’s passion or talent to simply enjoying some positive, fun self-development; students can participate at any capacity across any of the non-academic activities offered.

At PUEA, their operations are centered on spiritual values from how they apply academic knowledge to the services offered. They consistently maintain an ecumenical faith-based environment and believe as a consequence their students highly prosper from this in return. They produce graduates who are highly sought after in the job market as well as graduates who create jobs for others. The university is a multicultural campus that provides students with holistic academic and personal development opportunities. Be it as an on-campus or online learning student, PUEA is driven to provide all students with the best in learning facilities and programmes that will harness a student’s talents and set the right foundation for their career journey.
