The College of Insurance was established by the Kenyan insurance industry in 1990, with the main objective of developing the capacity of insurance companies in sectors such as human resources, underwriting systems, risk modelling, loss adjustment, and field inspections, so as to lead to an increased uptake of agricultural insurance within the EAC region. Over the years, the institute has grown in reputation and continuously strives to be a global centre of excellence in the provision of education and studies in Insurance, Risk Management, Pensions, Actuarial Science, Loss Adjusting, and Executive Technical and Management Programmes. This is done by steadfastly keeping to its core values of academic freedom, excellence, professionalism, innovation, participation and student empowerment. 

With two campuses in Nairobi and Mombasa, and a proposed campus coming to Kisumu, The College of Insurance provides students across the country with a warm and welcoming space to enhance their skills in and knowledge of the insurance industry.
